I recently remembered my visit to Tasty Dim Sum House after seeing a food influencer rave about it, and my experience was just as positive. The restaurant offers a fantastic assortment of dim sum, and I loved the display of maneki-neko cats along the walls. Don't let the "B" rating turn you away--it didn't reflect my experience at all. In fact, the food and service were excellent. Though the restaurant wasn't crowded when we visited, the service was prompt and attentive. When we mentioned it was our first time, the host was extremely helpful, suggesting popular dishes and sharing his personal favorites. We ended up ordering quite a bit, and to our surprise, they even brought out a couple of complimentary dishes. If you're looking for delicious dim sum, this spot is definitely worth a visit. Great food, a clean environment, and top-notch service.
Limited menu and decent food. Staff is always checking on you so service was good. Small restaurant and nothing to boast about.
Great, clean restaurant to get your dim sum fix in the Chino Hills area. Everything is delicious. The restaurant is clean. Service was nice. They mainly speak chinese though. I also get food delivery from here all the time.
My eight year old son was impressed with the chic decor of Tasty Dim Sum House restaurant, it did kind of feel like restaurant you would visit in the Matrix or Looper film franchises. The dim sum was good: we had shrimp dumplings, bbq pork Cha sui bao, pork soupy dumplings, and other standard fare you would get in any dim sum place in the Greater Los Angeles area. Service was typical for a busy dim sum place on a smaller scale.
New renovation! The inside deco is very fresh and clean. Dim sum comes fast and delicious. Each dish is around $6 and tea is $2.5 for each person.
I've been getting take out dim sum here over the years, I've never dined at the restaurant as it's quite limited on seating. Their hospitality has improved on my last visit over the weekend. They get very busy on weekends, beware of wait. It was refreshing to see that the restaurant got remodeled. If you are doing a pick up order it'll be about a 30 minute wait, I never came around to asking if they take phone orders or not. They now have a picture menu up at the counter when you are ordering. You just tell them what you want rather than checking off a sheet they use to have. Even with a 20 minute drive home food is always pipping hot when I unbox it. Fried foods have the corners of take out box cut off to help vent from condensation. 23. Seaweed Shrimp Roll- only item that is inconsistent. Sometimes it's overly fried and hard. Sometimes it's just right, batter is light and crispy. 1. Ha Gao (Steamed Shrimp Dumpling)- wrapper is soft, bouncy and not to thick. Shrimp is fresh, crisp. 2. Siu Mai (Roe Mushroom Shrimp Shiu Mai)- juicy, tender and flavorful. Wrapper is just right. They don't skimp on filling. 3. Leek Shrimp Dumpling- texture is perfect, wrapper was soft and bouncy. Filling had the perfect balance of savory and natural sweetness. 21. Baked Lava Egg Yolk Buns- if you love sweet and savory together, you would love this. Pineapple top is flaky and just right. Filling has isn't too runny and creamy. Rice rolls- silky and soft.
Damn, this place got a glow uppppppppp. My family often orders take-out from here and on occasion, I've dined in a few times, but let me tell you this place is looking and acting brand new. First of all, the interior got a refresh - it's no longer embarrassingly dilapidated. The menu got a little refresh too with some new menu items. They now offer veggies ~ heeeyyyyyyy ~ and noodles, etc. I ordered my usual and tried some new, notably good dishes: -shrimp and scallop dumpling ($7.29 for 3) -seaweed shrimp roll ($6.29) If you love har gow, I highly recommend ordering the shrimp and scallop dumplings. These were plump and chock full of shrimp + scallop. The scallop added a subtle sweetness to the hearty shrimp. Delicious. I also loved the seaweed shrimp roll. The roll is fried - giving it a nice seaweed-y crunch. I will definitely be adding these dishes into my usual rotation. Tasty Dim Sum House is still hands down the best place to get dim sum in this area - whether you dine in or do take-out.
First time visit. Dim sum and other items are as good & tasty as dim sum restaurants in Westminster or Garden Grove. Serving sizes? Large and filling. Ordered: har gow, shu mai, hom sui gock, spare ribs, gin doi, and the tripe. See the photo for the table spread. Came out to Chino Hills to take my son-in-law for dim sum for his birthday. Located in the same strip mall as 99 Ranch on Chino Ave. For a Sunday, it was busy but not crowded. Seating is limited. Highly recommend if you're in Chino Hills.
